What makes you join or buy a product?

Marketers use many different tactics to get people to use their products. One is by associating popular figures or items with the product. Personally, I'm not influenced by seeing a celebrity in commercials. I'm more influenced, if a lot of people I know are using the product, which is another huge tactic to marketing. Overall though, I would really have to like the product to buy or continue using it.
